Dr. Elie Al-Hindy, Ph.D. | Political Science and Security Studies

Dr. Elie Al-Hindy is a political scientist specializing in diversity management, power-sharing systems, inter-religious dialogue, peacebuilding, and conflict resolution. His research focuses on minorities and identity politics, consociational democracy, inclusive citizenship, Lebanese and Middle Eastern studies, and civil society. He has taught at Notre Dame University Louaize, the University of Sydney, Macquarie University, Dayton University (Ohio), and currently at the American University in the Emirates. Dr. Al-Hindy also brings leadership experience as Executive Director of the Adyan Foundation, Chairperson of the Department of Government & International Relations at NDU, and co-founder of ALEF – Act for Human Rights. He holds a Ph.D. in Government and International Relations from the University of Sydney and is an alumnus of the U.S. Department of State’s IVLP program (2021–2022).
